Santa Catarina lawyer debates in Brussels pathways to expand business between Mercosur and the European Union
The Santa Catarina lawyer Bruno Albuquerque participated, last week, in the 1st RCCPM European Union and Mercosur Economic Forum, held in Brussels, Belgium. With professional practice in Brazil and Portugal, he joined the discussions on the obstacles faced by Portuguese companies interested in entering the Southern Common Market (Mercosur), in addition to presenting the point of view of Brazilian companies that intend to position themselves in the European Union market.
The meeting was part of the program of the 3rd Annual Meeting of the Network of Portuguese Chambers of Commerce in the World (RCCPM), which brought together business leaders and institutional representatives from different countries and continents. Parallel to the panels, Albuquerque maintained an agenda of institutional approximation, which included a dinner with the ambassador of Portugal in Belgium, António Costa Moura, an occasion in which the formation of a working group gathering commercial associations of countries from the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) was discussed, with the possibility of setting up an office in Brussels. The lawyer also met with representatives of the Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal (AICEP Portugal Global) and with the CEO of the Group of Business Leaders of Belgium (LIDE Belgium), Jogi Humberto Oshiai.
The episode highlights the growing demand for specialized legal and strategic advice in business internationalization, an area in which Albuquerque operates, combining international, corporate, and banking law to support entrepreneurs and investors in planning and mitigating risks in operations between Brazil and the European continent.
