Brazil takes 156 companies to SIAL Paris and projects US$ 3.5 billion in business in the agrifood market
The biennial edition of SIAL Paris, held on the outskirts of the French capital and concluded on October 21, 2026, featured 156 Brazilian companies distributed across more than 2,500 square meters of booths. The delegation combined large meat and other protein exporting companies with organizations of small rural producers, and the expectation is that their presence at the event, one of the main ones in the agrifood segment on a global scale, will generate US$ 3.5 billion in business. The president of ApexBrasil, Laudemir Müller, treated the projected value as a record sales level for the country at the fair.
Among the exhibitors, Netto Foods, from São Paulo, processes over 5 million eggs per day in three units and currently directs 90% of its production to the domestic market, although it already serves 15 countries and intends to create ties with European commercial partners. The beef sector participated through the Brazilian Beef project, conducted for 12 years by the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporting Industries (ABIEC) in partnership with ApexBrasil. According to the entity’s president, Roberto Perosa, the national product reaches 177 countries, and the volume of animals processed by slaughterhouses rose from about 30 million in 2020 to 42.9 million last year, an expansion of close to 50%. The fair, in turn, receives 295,000 professionals from approximately 194 countries, including importers, distributors, retailers, and industries.
As a novelty in this edition, ten family farming cooperatives debuted in the Brazilian showcase, with items associated with biodiversity, bioeconomy, and fair trade. The National Union of Family Farming and Solidarity Economy Cooperatives (Unicafes), which represents 1,500 cooperatives and about 6 million people, brought approximately one hundred organic products, including honey, propolis, jams, and plant-based proteins. For Müller, collective organization is the path that allows small farmers to reach the foreign market, and some of the contracts may only materialize after the end of the event.
