German ambassador participates in a business lunch in São Paulo about the future of economic relations with Brazil
The Brazil-Germany Chamber of São Paulo promotes, on October 29, 2026, another edition of the AHK Business Lunch, a business lunch scheduled from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Blue Tree Transatlântico, in the capital of São Paulo. The guest of honor will be the German ambassador to the country, Patrícia Flor, who joins a panel on the perspectives of the German economy before executives and representatives of the public sector.
According to the entity, the agenda contemplates the direction of the German economy, the rearrangement of global supply chains, and the mechanisms of technical and financial partnership with the Brazilian market, amidst geopolitical reorganization and concerns with energy security. The rapprochement between diplomacy and the productive sector seeks to reduce macroeconomic uncertainties, identify tariff and regulatory barriers, and open commercial fronts for companies from both countries. Among the topics are also the expectations of German investors regarding trade agreements, taxation of remittances, and adequacy to European corporate due diligence rules. The chamber also emphasizes that, outside of Germany, it is in the capital of São Paulo that the largest number of companies with German capital are found, operating in the automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical, and capital goods segments.
The debate, therefore, gains weight because the readjustment of German supply chains, pressured by energy costs in the bloc and by climate goals, could open space for Brazil to establish itself as a supplier of renewable energy, minerals used in the energy transition, and sustainable manufactured goods. However, logistical obstacles, regulatory uncertainty, and tax disparities persist, and the companies associated with the entity demand a clear regulatory framework and legal stability to make long-term investments viable. Among the next indicated steps are new business rounds aimed at the hydrogen production chain with a low carbon footprint in the Northeast and Southeast regions, in addition to bringing together emerging Brazilian companies in the clean technology sector and German venture investors.
