Fortaleza to Host September Event Focused on International Expansion for Women-Led Businesses
On September 16, the Ceará capital will host the Mercosur-European Union Women’s Forum, an event that will bring together Brazilian and European businesswomen, executives, and specialists interested in internationalization and foreign trade at the headquarters of the Federation of Industries of the State of Ceará (FIEC). Organized by the Businesswomen Club in the Portuguese Language with sponsorship from Banco do Nordeste, the initiative seeks to turn the convergence between the two blocs into concrete opportunities for women-led companies.
The agenda is expected to address the impacts of the agreement between Mercosur and the European Union, in addition to topics such as sustainability, corporate governance, innovation, and strategies for small and medium-sized enterprises to gain competitiveness abroad. Moments of strategic networking between potential commercial partners are also planned, alongside practical activities tailored to preparing businesses for export processes. According to Rijarda Aristóteles, president of the organizing organization, the primary objective is to elevate female participation in international economic relations, positioning Fortaleza as a connection hub between companies from Brazil, Europe, and other markets.
The timing is favorable, as Mercosur and the European Union together represent more than 700 million consumers and account for approximately $22 trillion in combined Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
